Senior / Principal Contract Recruitment Consultant

Location: York | Hybrid / Remote Flexibility

Salary: Up to £55,000 Basic + Bonus + Future Equity Options

Following continued growth and a turnover of £3.2 million last year, our client is now looking to appoint an experienced Senior or Principal Contract Recruitment Consultant to help further develop their contract offering across complex, technology-led markets.

A genuinely exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly successful and growing recruitment business specialising within the global Energy sector.

This is not a replacement role — it’s a strategic growth hire due to natural expansion.

With a team of 15 established fee earners, strong leadership, existing client relationships and active global markets, the business is exceptionally well positioned for someone ambitious who wants to build something substantial whilst still remaining hands-on and highly billable.

The role offers genuine long-term progression, including a clear pathway towards equity/share options for the right individual once proven.

The Opportunity

This role would suit an experienced contract recruiter who enjoys building markets, developing new business and operating within complex, high-value sectors.

You will work closely with the Head of Contract and senior leadership team, including direct exposure to the CEO, helping shape future growth whilst developing your own market.

The business already has strong credibility within the Energy space globally, giving you an excellent platform to grow your desk quickly.

Sectors could include:

  • Energy
  • Renewables
  • Oil & Gas
  • Infrastructure
  • Engineering
  • Technology-led industrial markets

Experience within Aerospace & Defence, Automotive or other highly regulated sectors would also be highly transferable.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and developing a successful contract recruitment desk
  • Winning and developing new client relationships
  • Managing the full contract recruitment life-cycle
  • Working closely with global clients across complex engineering and energy projects
  • Handling client management, candidate delivery, compliance, on-boarding and extensions
  • Developing long-term, repeat contract revenue streams
  • Collaborating with leadership on growth strategy and future direction
  • Remaining hands-on, commercial and billable

  • Proven experience within contract recruitment
  • Ideally operating at Senior or Principal Consultant level
  • Strong business development and market-building capability
  • Experience recruiting into complex or engineering-led sectors
  • Commercially driven with a highly proactive approach
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and decision makers
  • Ambitious, resilient and entrepreneurial in mindset
  • Someone excited by growth, opportunity and long-term progression
